Total Lunar Eclipse Blood Moon

Friday's total lunar eclipse will be the longest blood moon visible this century, well worth seeing. Let's hope for good weather.

The full moon will turn blood red on July 27th as the longest total lunar eclipse of the century takes place in the skies.

A total lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes through the Earth’s innermost shadow. When this happens, the moon turns rusty orange or deep red in color and is how it earned the nickname of a blood moon eclipse.

It will last for about one hour and 40 minutes starting at about 8:50pm with climax at 9:21pm to 10:13 pm in the south-eastern sky, towards Pembridge.
